Rolling Jump is a basic jump game released by Chugulu Games.

“Help Lighty save the light of the world by escaping from the dark evil creatures in this incredibly FUN and ADDICTING game! Simply jump from each wheel up into the sky and stars to protect the light of the world”

The basic idea of the game is that you are playing “Lighty” a small ball like alien who is heading to the sky to escape the darkness that is climbing after him and to save the world. The game is played by jumping from one Wheel to the next as you try and get as high into the sky as possible.

This game reminded my very heavily of Jump O’ Clock which Glu released around a year ago, and the game play is very similar.

Tapping the screen will make Lighty jump in the direction that he is are currently facing and hopefully he will land on the next Wheel. That’s it, pure and simple.

Additional dangers are added to the game as some of the wheel have bouncy goo/slime on the surface and other such as baloons that annoyingly drift into your way when jumping.

There are some lights/suns to collect in the game and they can be used to activate a super boost that will send you upwards for a fair way.

The graphics and sound are both good, with a nice graphical style.

On the upside:

  • Fast and furious gameplay.
  • Cute main character.

On the downside:

  • Repetitive gameplay.
  • Lacking in power ups.
  • I would have liked to seen more dangers added.

Overall, this is a good game for the casual gamers. It is simple to play and you can quick learn how the game works. It is not the most original game, but at least it has learnt from similar games taking the best parts of them. I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in the game, like spikes, different enemies, rather than trying to maximise your score with multipliers. At present the app is £1.49, which it is probably worth. There is a lite version available on the app store to try before you buy.
