TASKMASTERHD [TOUCHPAD] – REVIEW (81%)

12 Feb

TaskMasterHD is a task management system released by Rahisi.

“Based upon TaskMaster for webOS phones, TaskMasterHD has been rebuilt from scratch for the Touchpad. Get your life back in order with TaskMasterHD. Now, you can keep a better grip on your GTD lists with TaskMasterHD.”

TaskMasterHD joins the long list of Task management application on the Touchpad, but is it any good?

When you first enter the application you will see three almost blank columns, you can create task lists if you wish to group your tasks, if not, you can have them in a No Tasklist group.

When creating tasks you give it a Summary name, Notes, a due date if you want one and then options such a priority, categories (if you have set these up) and a reminder if you want it.

If you create several new tasks in a row, you will find things like the priority present from the last task you entered.

There are lots of filters to help you view your tasks, by priority, due dates, status etc.

The user interface is excellent. It is simple to add and edit tasks. The application lacks preferences so you are limited to the base colours and fonts, but the defaults are fine.

It has been be pointed out that TaskMasterHD has an excellent Help /Manual built in. Something that a lot of the other task managers lack. The application is easy enough to use without this, but having it there is a bonus and you can confirm that you are doing things right.

On the upside:

  • Well designed user interface.
  • Easy to use and set up task.

On the downside:

  • Lack of repeating tasks.
  • I would have liked to have seen some type of backup option.

Overall, TaskMasterHD is a great task management system, however, for me at least, it lacks the repeating tasks and online backup of data. whole heartedly. If these are not issues for you, then the application is well worth checking out, especially at this price.
