Kids Coloring HD is a digital colouring book and is released by

“Kids Coloring HD is an interesting coloring app for kids. It’s very simple to use for your kids. Enjoy! Features: – 23 pictures to color. – You can save your pictures & share them via email (Need to install FileMgr). – Easy to clear page. – Develops hand-eye coordination.”

The application allow you to colour it one of the 23 images available using a large number of paints available.

You select a colour from the palette and than tap an area on the screen and the area around that tap point will fill with that colour. Music plays in the background while you paint, but can be muted from the top menu bar.

The 23 pictures are nicely drawn and vary in style and environment. There are some that do look close to artwork from some Disney.

Some of the pictures have animation, such as moving eyes of the characters.

This app is clearly aimed at the under fives, and as my daughter is four I gave it to her to test it. She really like the images and filling them in. She turned the volume down after a while so maybe she found the music a little annoying after a time.

On the upside:

  • Nice artwork.
  • Easy to use interface.

On the downside:

  • Some of the tap areas are small and can be missed, filling the area outside it.
  • The save and share seem to take a photo, but I cannot find it in the Touchpad.

Overall, this is a great digital colouring book for your younger kids to use on the Touchpad. It will keep them busy for some time and you will get your money’s worth out of the 79p. Hopefully there will be more images added in later updates to keep the application fresh for the kids.
