Let me out is an puzzle game released by Chillingo Ltd.
“You’ve heard of a bookworm, how about a book dragon? There you were, minding your own business reading a book when all of a sudden it sucked you inside! Now you have to solve all the puzzles to get out. Fire the cute little dragon from the cannon to the portal in each stage, collecting floating letters and golden pages along the way!”
Gameplay wise, your dragon will appear in a cannon in the start of each level, the power which the cannon fires at is already decided. You need to move objects in the background to block and bounce the dragon through the three golden pages on each level to the exit.
The game offers over 100 levels to play through so this will take some time to complete, and also have more levels promised.
The main issue with the level designs is that you are given keys to solve the puzzle, if you are willing to wait a minute or two and you will be able to solve it without even the need for thinking. You need these keys on some levels as you have no idea which position an item needs to be to get the solution moving.
The puzzles range from the easy to the very hard that need the keys to solve it completely, so in this case a dull wait for the keys to unlock.
The game is controlled by dragging the elements of the background to allow the dragon to bounce his way to the exit.
The graphics are cute and the music is bouncy.
On the upside:
- Lots of levels to play through.
On the downside:
- Some of the levels are just dull.
- Positioning are vital to complete the level.
Overall, this game reminded me of Land-a Panda in many ways, and it has almost the same issues. In fact Land-a Panda is a bit more fun. The puzzles are just a matter of time to solve, they do not grab you as you have such limited control over them. This is not a bad game and it may appeal to some, but I like my puzzle games to be a bit more interactive.
