Elmer and the lost teddy is an e-book / audio book and is published by Oceanhouse Media.

“When Baby Elephant loses his teddy bear, it’s Elmer to the rescue. Is the lost bear with Lion? With Tiger? With Crocodile? It’s getting late. Will Elmer find the lost bear in time for bed? Young children will love the gentle suspense and will rejoice in the thoroughly happy ending which celebrates the special bond between baby animals and their teddy bears!”

This book gives you the options of reading the book yourself, having the read to you (and you control the page turns) or the complete book read to you automatically. The application also adds extra interaction by touching something on the screen the name appears in print and word is spoken.

The story is by David McKee and is a tale based on a patchwork coloured Elephant who helps in the search for baby elephants lost teddy bear.

The story is really well read by a very happy sounding lady.

The story is sweet and my daughter had it read three times in a row.

This book is fun for kids and a nice read for adults.

On the upside:

  • Interactive with the book adds to the “re-readability” of the book.
  • Universal for iPad and iPhone
  • Nicely drawn and animated

On the downside:

  • No page selector to jump into the story to your favorite bit of the book.

Overall, the book is a great little book and my four year old daughter really liked it. This is the second Elmer book we have read and it is the best one so far. If you are looking for a nice bed time story then you should certainly look at this one.
