Galaxy On Fire 2 Full HD is a space ship adventure released by FishLabs.
“A hyperdrive malfunction sends intergalactic adventurer and war hero Keith T. Maxwell tumbling through space and time. Awakening 35 years later at the far end of the galaxy, he quickly finds himself fighting for his life against a mysterious alien armada that is wreaking havoc on the warring races occupying this volatile sector of space.”
The game is basically in a mix between space trading / missions and space combat.
The game starts with a tutorial mission which has you entering space combat, then after the accident that sends you into the future you are given a poor ship and learn how to mine asteroids etc.
Once you have completed the first few story based missions the way to progress really becomes your own. You can follow the story path or you can try some of the side missions to gain extra money and improving your skills of combat etc before moving on.
These missions are given by various humaniods hanging out in the louge areas of the space stations. Missions are often combat based, but not always.
The game is controlled with mouse and keyboard, with the keyboard control movement and the mouse controlling aims. The mouse or keyboard can be used to navigate the menu systems.
The sound and presentation are very good with even the “blackness” of space being fairly colourful.
On the upside:
- The story line is large and will take some time to complete, with a large galaxy to explore.
- The side missions allow you to really
- Combat combat is well done, with the battles been small ships very satisfying.
On the downside:
- Launch on a mission and fly out of a space station slap bang into an asteroid, but you have a moment to turn.
- Very combat based at times.
- Can become a little repetitive in some of the tasks, like the mining.
Overall, this is a good game and with the few of the downsides addressed it could be even better. It is very enjoyable to play and when you upgrade to a new space ship you feel you have accomplished something. I look forward to what future updates bring.
