Incredible is a social networking management tool and is released by Zhephree.

“Incredible! is Synergy for your social life. Add your favorite social networking accounts in and view a chronological stream of everything your friends are doing online, regardless of what network they’re on! incredible! is smart enough to determine when a post is a duplicate post from the same user, even if their username is different on each service, and consolodates them into one post in your stream. No more seeing your friend’s foursquare check-in on foursquare, Facebook, AND Twitter!”

Above is the blurb from the application page on the HP App Catalog, and basically it sums up the function of Incredible! much better than I could and I have to agree that it does as advertised.

On opening, the application asks you to set up your accounts on the application. This was a simple task, and as soon as one is added the application refreshes and adds in that feed. You can even add multiple twitter accounts.

Once your accounts are set up, you are underway. The feeds show at the basic tweets and posts from facebook, you are not able to deal with things like mentions etc. So at the moment, this is by no means a full Twitter client, however, if a lot of ways weeks better than some twitter clients for the Touchpad.

The application really comes into its own if you have lots of social networking accounts and just want to keep on time of them without seeing duplicate messages.

Incredible comes into its own on the filtering of the posts. Being about to highlight a post with a coloured outline if it contains something of use really helps you sort through posts, and if you know one of your twitter friends always tweets about a sport, you can hide tweets that contain that team name etc. For me, this is very useful indeed.

The user interface is great and one of the best I have seen (in landscape at least) and it handles posts in a really nice way, and the colour filtering really makes it easy to see the posts you are looking for. There are a few bugs, but these can be fixed with an updates

On the upside:

  • Beautifully user interface.
  • Easily to use and navigate.
  • Filtering is done very well, allowing you to quickly skip “non-useful” posts.

On the downside:

  • Does not look quite as good in Portrait.
  • Some minor UI issues, like a colour bar being outside the pop-up on the rule set up and keyboard not coming up when adding name to a group after deleting one.

Overall, this is a great social networking tool, at the moment it does feel like it has not reached its full protential, but the ground work is in place, and the user interface is beautifully done. I look forward to seeing what future updates will bring to this application.
