Apple News:

  • Apple released security update for Lion.
  • Apple doubles its employees charitable contributions.
  • Apple change their website so it no longer includes shipping estimates.
  • Apple ask developers to get their apps updated for iCloud.
  • Apple release new betas to devs. iTunes 10.5.8 and iWork Beta 3
  • Apple now shipping Thunderbolt displays.
  • Rumour: iPhone 5 / 4GS coming first week in October. Too many rumours to get a clear picture.
  • Rumour: iPod Classic to be discontinued this year.
  • Rumour: Photo of Sushi taken with iPhone 5 camera (8MP)
  • iPhone 4 continues to be the best selling smart phone even with the iPhone 5 due very soon.
  • Gameloft announce the next game in the Gangstar series.
  • Computer classic “Another World” comes to iOS.
  • Fox release first episode to “New Girl” before it releases the TV series.
  • Sega release Sonic 20th Anniversary App for free.
  • Atari set to release its own Arcade dock for the iPad.

In other tech news:

  • Samsung permanent ban in Germany for the Galaxy Tab.
  • Amazon tablets may be the only competitor to the iPad.
  • Seagate release 4TB external hard drive.
  • HTC purchased Google Patents to help in its legal battles with Apple.
  • Adobe add iOS 5 – News Stand support to its Digital Publishing Suite.
  • TechCrunch and AoL have a falling out.
