The Secret World Chronicles, Book Three: World Well Lost is a selection of linked super hero tales released by

This book follows from the previous books in the series, using many of the heroes for the previous books, closing up some story lines and now beginning to focus on some characters more.

The stories are written by the same authors as the original, Mercedes Lackey and Steve Libbey.

The story continues to evolve and you really need to listen to the previous podcasts as there is no recap or character reintroduction. This book is more focused than Book 1 and Book 2 with larger story lines and character building and histories revealed for main characters. There are some new characters introduced, but they are more sidekicks and rookies.

The book well read by Veronica Giguere, however, a few mistakes have been left in on the some of the recording. My biggest issue with the podcast was an issue with the sound quality from She Blinded me with Science onwards, where the stereo tracks appeared to be badly recorded. I could listen on the Mac without an issue, but on the iPhone it was impossible to hear the book.

On the upside:

  • Not your standard super hero novel.
  • Continuation of a great tale.
  • Lots of characters to enjoy.

On the downside:

  • Bad sound quality on half of the download.
  • Need to have listened to the first book to get the most out of this.

Overall, this is a good audio book / podcast. I enjoyed the story lines and was left looking forward to the next book in the series. The audio recording needs cleaning up. I almost stopped listening due to it, but it shows my interest in the story that I stuck it out and changed my listening.
