Glyder 2 HD is an exploring and collecting game released by Glu Mobile.
Eryn once again finds herself in a foreign dimension and needs your help to unlock the mysteries of her new environment in an effort find a way back home. Soar through the skies and swoop through tight caverns to explore the wondrous mysteries throughout the land.
The basic ideas of the game has you flying around one of six islands trying to find crystals. These crystals will unlock things within the game (when you have enough) and to complete the 24 goals of the game.
One of the more interesting aspect of Glyder 2 is that you are not limited to a set mission or area, this really is a free roaming game with no set objectives to time limits, not even lives. The idea of this game is to explore, find and enjoy.
The gameplay is generally fun with you dodging and diving around the map locating the orbs and trying to catch up drafts of air.
The game is controlled by tilting the device. Left and Right to turn, tilt up to climb and down to dive.
The graphics are very good and show off the Touchpad abilities very well. The music is a little dull and very repetitive.
On the upside:
- Beautiful voyage of discovery.
- Lots to unlock and do, including mini-games.
On the downside:
- There is some graphical chopping in tunnels and pop-ups etc.
- Repetitive music.
- Some crystals and objects are hard to find and sometimes even harder to get to.
Overall, Glyder 2 is a bit of an odd game, its switches quickly from a beautiful and fun voyage of discovery, to a plodding and dull search and back again. I found the best strategy for the game was to keep moving between islands to find more objects to help you will previous islands. It does take a little while to fly between islands, but it is worth it to keep the game interesting. If you are looking for a good game on the Touchpad, especially something different for the norm, then Glyder 2 HD is well worth a look.
