SecuStore 2 is a password manager / secure storage utility released by MaKleSoft.

If you are still using the same password over a lot of different sites, then that is very bad, and you need complex and different passwords on all the accounts you use. This has been proven by the various hacks that have been made over the years. I once use to use the same password on several sites, and when I get my email hacked I learnt my lesson fast.

This application allows you keep all your passwords and information in one location.

The application lets you set up folder (sets) in which you can store the passwords and data. So you could have a work and home folder with different locking passwords containing the various data.

Once you have created a folder, with a locking password, you can begin to add passwords and data into the project. There are a number of pre-defined templates available or you can create your own. These templates include Internet, Pin, CreditCards, License Keys etc.

We you add data into the application you get the data set up by the template (so if a website – name, URL, login name, password and notes) If you have an existing account you can just type in the data you are already using. If you are creating a new account, then the application offers a random password creator which gives a list of weak to very strong passwords to select from.

The biggest advantage of this on the Touchpad is of course you do not have to remember all your password, just the one from the secure folder. Then you can copy the password and past it into the website or accounts page that is asking for the data.

The user interface is very good and easy to use.

On the upside:

  • Able to generate complex passwords and save them on the move.
  • One place for all your password, and they are available when you forget them.

On the downside:

  • Just do not forget your master folder passwords
  • After install I had issues adding my first password (+ button not working) until I restarted the app.
  • Some minor bugs at the moment, which we know the developer is working on.

Overall, this is an excellent application for the keeping your passwords safe and secure. If you have a number of passwords that you need to use on the Touchpad, like your webOS account etc, then you can store them all here. Once the current issues are fixed (like the import option) this could be a “must have” application for all Touchpads.
