Eternity Warriors is a Freemium top down fighting game by Glu.

Glu have again revamped the Gun Bro engine used in several other titles and this time made it into a close combat fantasy game. So the immediate thing you will notice when you get this game is everything apart from the sound and graphics are almost identical.

The idea of the game is that after 20 years of peace in North Udar, a power Demon under the command of the evil Demon King Kilic is threating the lands.

The basics of the game as to fight your wave through wave after wave of attacks, gaining souls, which can then be turned into money to purchase weapons, armour and power ups. You can carry two styles of weapons at a time, and can switch between them. These are mainly one or two handed swords and axes.

The game is controlled by the standard virtual joystick with some on screen buttons to switch weapons, attack and special attacks etc.

The graphics and sound are very good. The artwork is well drawn with some nice character artwork.

On the upside:

  • Solid fighting action
  • Lots of Armour and Weapons to earn and buy.

On the downside:

  • Very similar to lots of Glu’s other titles.
  • You will more than likely have to pay real cash to progress far into this game.
  • Repetitive when the upgrades start to slow down.

Overall, I was surprised that the Gun Bro engine works well using hand to hand combat, and the game is enjoyable to play. As normal this is another polished and freemium title from Glu. If you like the mindless hack and slash action split into waves, then this is well worth a look.
