ONCE UPON A POTTY: BOY – REVIEW (83%)

30 Jun

Once upon a potty : Boy is an e-book / audio book and is published by Oceanhouse Media.

This book gives you the options of reading the book yourself, having the read to you (and you control the page turns) or the complete book read to you automatically. The application also adds extra interaction by touching something on the screen the name appears in spoken text.

The story is by Alona Frankel and is a tale is about a little boy Joshua, who is receives his first potty to help her to finish using his diaper / nappy.

There is even a potty song to listen to.

This book is fun for kids and a nice read for adults.

The books is nicely drawn and read.

On the upside:

  • Interactive with the book adds to the “re-readability” of the book.
  • Universal for iPad and iPhone.
  • Had my kids laughing and re-reading immediately.

On the downside:

  • No page selector to jump into the story to your favorite bit of the book.

Overall, my kids really liked this book, but I like more for the comedy of Joshua missing the potty the first time and the poo-poo in the diapers. However, it is a good book and explains a difficult to cover subject.
