The Heist is a mission based puzzle game and is released by Tap Tap Tap.
The Heist game is linked to the MacHeist site. If you can win a Mac piece of software if you manage to unlock the safe within the game.
The game starts with a fake phone call to ask your help in cracking a safe.
The game itself is made up of four types of puzzle games, that when a level is completed it powers up your unlock program, and as enough levels are complete one of the padlocks on the safe is removed and a defence is removed.
The four game modes are as follow:
- Wire Based Slider Puzzle – 68%
- Maze, Block pushing game – 65%
- Sudoko with Images – 75%
- Key to Lock game – 63%
None of the game types are bad, and there are several I like, but I am no expert at any of them.
The graphics and sound are fine for what they need to do, nothing special, but all very functional.
On the upside:
- Well designed user interface.
- Good puzzles
On the downside:
- The control on the maze game is a bit picky
- If you are not good at one of the puzzle styles, you will very hard to crack that safe.
- Big difficulty curve for locks 3 and 4
- No previous or hint on some of the tougher levels.
Overall, I enjoyed the early levels of this game, as I easily unlocked the first two of the four locks, but then almost halted towards the end of the third lock, as all the styles of puzzles get pretty tough at that point. If you are a real puzzle game fan then this really is the game for you, however, if you are someone who can take them and leave them, then you will find the game hard, and will be unlikely to crack the safe.
