Zuma’s Revenge is a puzzle action game released by PopCap Games Inc.
The game puts you in control of a frog who is ship wrecked on an island, you need to survive this land and escape if you can.
Zuma’s Revenge is made up of sixty levels of ball-blasting action, with lots of power ups to help you along the way.
The basics of the game, are your are presented with a level that has a pathway to an exit. Your frog will “normally” appear in the middle of this play area. Then colours rolls begin to roll down the pathway towards the exit. If you do not destroy the balls before they exit the level you lose a life. If you destroy all the balls, you move onto the next level.
There are lots of power ups along the ways, like bombs, lasers, slow downs, reverse the balls etc.
The game is controlled by aiming the mouse, and then firing them in the direction of the same coloured balls on the pathway.
The graphics and sound are very good.
On the upside:
- Bright and Colourful
- Fast and Furious puzzle action.
On the downside:
- Loading and Saving seems to be a little slow (on a 2Ghz, 1GB memory iMac). The game itself runs just fine.
Overall, I have played the Zuma games several times over the years on various platforms, and I have to say this is the best version I have played to date. The boss battles and the occasion twist on the centre rotation give the game added variety. If you have never played Zuma, then it is a must have to your collection. It is simple to learn, but difficult to master, there is a little luck involved with the ball selections, but this never seems to make the game too difficult.
