Bejeweled 3 is the 3rd version of one of the original three-in-a-row puzzle games and is released by PopCap Games Inc.

The game is a update of the Bejeweled series, and I must say it has a lot more than normal for this type of game.

PopCap have four different game modes, the classic version of people who love the standard game mode, and then three extras. Zen, Lightning and Quest.

  • Zen – Relaxing, playing at your own pace.
  • Lightning – Against the clock, fast and furious as you try to get extra time.
  • Quest – Various challenges that I enjoyed the most.

There are even some achievements in the game, in the way of badges that can be unlocked, which gives to something for aim for.

The game is controls are very simple, with the mouse used for selecting the two jewels to be switched.

The graphics and sound are very good. The graphics are bright and colourful, and the music always seems to match the tension in the game, and the chilled out nature the next.

On the upside:

  • Well designed user game.
  • Addictive game play.

On the downside:

  • A little bit on the expensive side.

Overall, this is an enjoyable game that is very moreish. Maybe it is because the iOS store is flooded with some many of these games, that now this game type is not so fun for me as it once was. On the Mac, these games are a bit more rare, and this has to be the best. With so many game modes and beautiful design I have to recommend this game. The quest game made this game the most interesting for me personally. It is a little expensive compared with others, but sometimes you have to pay for quality.
