Angry Birds Rio is a movie tie in version of the physics puzzle game released by Rovio.
Angry Birds have returned yet again this time as a movie tie in with the Rio movie by creators of Ice age.
For those who have not played angry birds, then you have a set number of birds to complete a level, there are about six types of bird, but the ones given as predefined. You then fire them in order out of a catapult at an angle of your choice into the structures that are protecting the pigs bird cages. Destroy all the pigs bird cages and you have won. Some of the bird types have special abilities that you can trigger by tapping the screen.
The graphics and sound are very similar to the original angry birds, with a little bit more polish. They are mainly functional, now iconic graphics.
On the upside:
- More angry birds action.
- Lots of levels (60 and more to come)
On the downside:
- To be honest with three angry bird games on the app store it is time for a proper angry birds two.
- This could have almost have been added as a free patch to the original angry bird game.
Overall, this is more of the same, Rio is a full game in its own right with many levels and even a boss battle that does take you away from the standard Angry Bird format. As much as this is a good game it does feel like the title is now being milked a little too much, my iPhone now has three Angry Birds games in one folder, so I am not left asking which one I want to play.
