Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard is a tactical FPS shooter released by Gameloft.

This game places you in command of a special ops team who are giving several anti terrorist missions to complete.

The idea of the game is complete the primary mission and secondary ones if you can, you can control the other two members of you team by clicking on green command buttons as they appear on the map.

The default game controls are done by a virtual d-pad and then swiping the screen to change your view, there are also buttons for firing the gun and options that will appear when the options are available, like hide behind cover.

The graphics and sound are generally good, but the character faces etc, are amazingly poor. They do distract you from the experience of playing the game sometimes.

On the upside:

  • A real Rainbow Six experience
  • Easy to control

On the downside:

  • Some of the graphics are pretty poor and low res.
  • Short Campaign

Overall, this is a very good game, having played several Rainbow Six games on the console systems, this does feel like a solid counterpart. The missions are smaller and there are less weapons, but the gameplay is there. Multiplayer adds to the game greatly. It is a shame that the graphics of the characters are really bad at times, it feel that this could have been improved. However, all that said, if you are a fan of Rainbow Six games, you can now play it properly on the move now.
