PAC-MAN FOR IPAD – REVIEW (74%)

31 Oct

Pac-Man for iPad is the classic arcade game released by Namco Networks America Inc.

The application opens to Pac-man splash screen, then you can jump straight into the game. Collect the pills and avoid the ghosts. Collect the big power pills to make the ghost edible for a short time.

There are three levels of difficult Easy, Normal and Original.

The game does offer some options. Sound FX on or off, listen to your iPod library and the control method. Tilt, Swipe or Joystick. I found swipe to work best for me.

The graphics and sound are as the original, with no updates. Retro gamers will be pleased to see the game in its original glory.

On the upside:

  • Classic arcade action
  • Still fun to play are all these years

On the downside:

  • Showing it’s age.
  • Repetitive, but so was the original and we still played it for hours.
  • Was reduced when downloaded, but back to £2.99 already, which is a little high for a retro game.

Overall, this is just a retro classic. If you have not played Pac-man then you are not a true gamer. It is still fun to play and you still end up complaining the the ghosts do not stay edible long enough after eating a power pill. The game is basic, no amazing sound or graphics, but with Pac-man you don’t need it.
