THE ROOKIE REMASTERED (AUDIO BOOK) – REVIEW (8/10)

American Football, Aliens and a unique universe designed by the king of Podcasting, Scott Sigler.

If you are interested in American football it will help your enjoyment of the book, but even though I am not a big fan of the sport, I still found it a good listen.

As with most Scott Sigler stories there is a lot of violence and bloodshed, and a little foul language, but I find that this gives the stories more of a gritty realism.

Rating: 8/10

BRISINGR [UNABRIDGED] (AUDIO BOOK) – REVIEW (7/10)

Brisingr, or The Seven Promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Bjartskular, is the third book in the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini.

The audio book producers have decided to split the unbridged version into two parts, rather than releasing as one book, probably just seen as a way to make more money.

I must say that I was not so keen on the reader, but he did not do a bad job, it just felt like he was “just doing his job”.

Overall, this is a good book and if you like the Eragon stories then it is of course a “must have”. If you are a fan of fantasy and dragons then listen to the original Eragon audio book and see if the inheritance cycle is for you.

Rating: 7/10

Price (at time of review):
Abridged: £8.95
Unabridged: £17.90 (for the two parts of book)

ESCAPE POD – REVIEW (8/10)

An excellent repository of short stories, there are some real gems along with the average stories. For all you sci-fi fans out there, there is someone for everyone here.

Be warned several of the stories are not family friendly, with sex or violence making regular appearances.

However, if this is not your thing, you can always skip the story and download the next one, which is normally released about a week apart.

Rating: 8/10
